Great serration on a fossilized Megalodon shark tooth is not something you take for granted. Thousands of years underground will wear most serration down to nothing, which is exactly what makes this 1 7/8 inch specimen worth stopping on. The serration along both cutting edges of this tooth is intact, sharp, and clearly defined from shoulder to tip. It is the kind of edge detail that fossil hunters hunt for and rarely find in this condition on a tooth ready to wear.

The tooth itself carries earthy gray tones across both root and blade. The root is dark gray with a rough, heavily textured surface full of the natural pitting and porosity that comes from deep fossilization. The blade transitions to a slightly lighter gray, smooth and clean with sharp vertical enamel lines that run its full length. The build around it is equally distinctive. The bone beads on this necklace are light tan and cream with bold wavy black lines that wrap each bead in a flowing pattern, a completely different look from any other build in this collection. Stainless steel wire holds the root with clean secure tension and stainless steel clamps close out both ends of the Greek leather cord.

The serration on this tooth survived thousands of years underground. That is not an accident.

This is the actual tooth you will receive.

Shark Tooth Necklace FAQ

Can I return my shark tooth necklace?
All shark tooth necklace purchases are final. If this shark tooth necklace arrives damaged, please contact us for a refund or replacement. See our Refund and Replacement policy for full details.

Are the shark teeth in these necklaces real?
Yes. This is a genuine fossilized Megalodon shark tooth. Not a cast, not a replica, not a reproduction of any kind.

What shark species is the tooth in this necklace from?
This tooth came from Otodus megalodon, the largest shark to ever live. Megalodon ruled the ancient oceans for millions of years before going extinct, and its teeth are among the most prized fossils in the world.

How old is the fossil shark tooth in this necklace?
This Megalodon shark tooth is over 10,000 years old. Every surface detail you see formed naturally through the fossilization process over an enormous span of time.

Does this Megalodon shark tooth necklace still have serration?
Yes, and it is exceptional. This tooth has great serration running sharp and intact along both sides of the blade. Serration this well preserved on a fossilized Megalodon tooth is genuinely uncommon and adds real value to this piece.

Where do Megalodon shark teeth like this one come from?
Most come from rivers, coastlines, and offshore areas along the eastern United States. South Carolina, Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia are among the most productive areas for finding Megalodon teeth.

Is this shark tooth necklace one of a kind?
Completely. The tooth, the serration, the coloration, and the wave patterned bone beads all come together exactly once. No other necklace in this collection looks like this one.

What materials are used in this shark tooth necklace?
Genuine Greek leather cord, bone beads, and stainless steel wire and clamps. Built to last and built to wear.

Is this shark tooth necklace handmade in the USA?
Yes, handmade in the USA.

Is the fossil shark tooth in this necklace fragile?
All real fossils require some care. Avoid dropping this tooth or striking it against hard surfaces. Worn normally it holds up well for everyday use.

How do I care for this fossil shark tooth necklace?
Wear it like any leather necklace. Keep it out of water when you can since repeated soaking will wear the Greek leather cord down faster over time. Occasional exposure is not a problem.

Is a Megalodon shark tooth necklace a good gift?
A real Megalodon tooth with great serration on a handmade necklace is the kind of gift people remember. It works for shark enthusiasts, fossil lovers, ocean people, and anyone who wants to wear something that has been around since before recorded history.
